การใช้ Some และ Any

สองคำนี้ใช้ไม่ยากเลยค่ะ วันนี้เราจะเรียนรู้รวมไปถึงคำว่า somebody, someone, something และ anybody, anyone และ anything ด้วย เรามาเริ่มกันเลยค่ะ

some (ซัม) และ any (เอนิ) ใช้เพื่อกล่าวถึงจำนวนที่ไม่จำเพาะเจาะจง โดยแปลตรงตัวได้ว่า จำนวนหนึ่ง, บ้าง

ทั้ง some และ any ใช้วางหน้าคำนามนับไม่ได้ (uncountable nouns) เช่น water = น้ำ, milk = นม, bread = ขนมปัง, coffee = กาแฟ ฯลฯ และหน้านามนับได้พหูพจน์ (plural countable nouns) เช่น birds = นก, chairs = เก้าอี้ tables = โต๊ะ

วิธีการใช้ some และ any, some, any

Some ใช้เมื่อ

• ใช้ในประโยคบอกเล่า เช่น

- We have got some work to do.
- There are some birds in the tree.

• ใช้ในประโยคคำถามเมื่อแสดงความั่นใจ หรือเมื่อคาดหวังว่าคำตอบจะเป็น "Yes" เช่น

- What are you looking?

- Have you lost something?

(รู้แน่ว่าเพื่อนกำลังหาของบางอย่างอยู่ ก็เลยถามว่าทำอะไรหายหรือเปล่า แน่นอนว่าเพื่อนต้องตอบ Yes)

•ใช้เวลาที่ต้องการยื่นข้อเสนอ (offer) ให้คนอื่น เช่น

- Would you like something to drink?

•ใช้ในการขอร้อง (request) เช่น

- Could I have some water, please?

Any ใช้เมื่อ

• ใช้ในประโยคที่เป็น Negative เช่น

- I don''t have any friends.

- There isn''t any bread left.

- There aren''t any birds in the tree.

• ใช้ในประโยคคำถามที่คำตอบสามารถเป็นได้ทั้ง Yes หรือ No เช่น

- Have you found anything?

- Are there any birds in the tree?

• ใช้ตามหลังประโยค if-condition เช่น

- If anyone wants to go to bathroom, please raise your hand now.

• ใช้กับเรื่องที่ไม่ระบุเจาะจง อะไรก็ได้ เช่น

- Which team would you like to join? Any team. (หมายถึง ให้ไปอยู่ทีมไหนก็ได้ ไม่มีปัญหา)

• ใช้กับคำว่า never, hardly, rarely, barely, seldom, without เช่น

- I hardly have any help.
